Frans Bauer staat voortdurend aan de deur

In de realityreeks De Bauers is te zien hoe vaak Frans bij zijn zoon en schoondochter over de vloer komt na de geboorte van het kindje. Eén bezoekje per dag lijkt voor de kersverse opa duidelijk niet voldoende.

Jan vertelt in een video uit de reeks dat het die dag rond drie uur 's middags al aardig uit de hand was gelopen. “Het is nu drie uur 's middags, maar ik denk dat hij al acht keer is geweest.”

Frans komt dus regelmatig even aanwaaien bij Jan en Danique. En daar heeft hij telkens een reden voor. Zo wil hij bijvoorbeeld graag een flesje geven, maar daarna blijft hij nog wat langer hangen. “Dan wil hij een flesje geven, maar dan blijft hij maar wat langer tot de kleine Jan een boertje heeft gelaten”, vertelt Jan lachend.

Toch lijkt niemand binnen het jonge gezin daar echt mee te zitten. Jan en Danique genieten er duidelijk van dat opa zo betrokken is bij hun zoontje. “Het is goud”, zegt Jan over de aanwezigheid van zijn vader. 

Ook Danique merkt dat haar zoontje rustig wordt wanneer hij bij opa Frans is. Voor Frans zelf is het blijkbaar vooral moeilijk om zich in te houden. Hij is duidelijk helemaal weg van zijn kleinzoon en wil zoveel mogelijk van die eerste momenten meemaken.

Frans beseft dat hij niet te vaak moet langskomen

De kersverse grootvader beseft tegelijkertijd dat zijn enthousiasme misschien ook iets te veel van het goede kan worden. Een jong gezin heeft tenslotte ook behoefte aan rust en tijd met elkaar. Frans kan er dan ook zelf om lachen. “Zegt de schoondochter binnenkort: ‘Daar heb je opa weer’.” (lees verder onder de video)

Voorlopig lijkt zijn aanwezigheid in ieder geval meer dan welkom. Jan en Danique genieten ervan dat Frans en Mariska zo betrokken zijn bij hun eerste kleinkind. De kleine Jan heeft duidelijk een bijzondere plaats in het hart van zijn kersverse grootvader.
